As a previous teacher in Korea, I know what is expected of me as a teacher in a Korean Hagwon. I am familiar with what to expect from the staff and the students. I know how to jump the hurdles that can exist with the language barrier in the classroom and have the patience and understanding to work through the hurdles that might arrive in the classroom. Working with children in the past I have good classroom and behavioral management. I am excited to live in Korea again. Not only do I know what to expect in the classroom, but also what to expect within Korea itself. I can easily assimilate to the customs and culture of Korea. I have learned how to embrace the differences and love Korea for all it has to offer. I look forward to starting another journey in such a great country.

This year has enabled me to develop greatly as a foreign language teacher. Using effective teaching skills, I aim to make my lessons fun to motivate my students to learn. I am a very hard working and driven individual who works great with others. I am a very responsible person who takes my work seriously but at the same time I am a fun person to be around. I am great with children and am also passionate about teaching. I have some experience at teaching English to university students as well as elementary students. I taught both of these age groups while volunteering abroad in Thailand for a total of four months. I am a very open minded individual and extremely flexible. I have a keen ability to empathize with people and understand their perspectives. I received plenty of practice at this as a sales consultant for AT&T. One of the tasks I was asked to do was to teach customers how to use their new phone. Sometimes I would have a customer who had never had a cell phone before and I would be expected to teach them how to use a smart phone. With these kinds of people, I would have to be very patient and willing to use “non-technical” language to explain sometimes technical details. My customers liked me so much that I received a perfect customer satisfaction score for 6 months straight at one point. I was one of only two people in my sales region (which included 2 states) to ever reach this goal. I am happiest when I am able to improve someone else's way of life, and I can think of no greater way to do this than through education
